He practised as a litigation lawyer in various firms until he joined Tan, Lee & Choo as a partner in September 2004.
In his more than 30 years of practice, he has conducted trials and argued cases in the State Courts, the Family Court, the High Court, and the Court of Appeal.
His main areas of practice are civil litigation and family law. Many of his litigation and divorce cases have been reported in Lawnet. His criminal matters have also been reported in the news. In recent years, he has diversified into conveyancing and property law as well.
He is an Associate Mediator of the Singapore Mediation Centre, a Commissioner for Oaths and a Notary Public. He is also qualified to act as a Professional Deputy/Donee.
Having come from the Chinese High School (Hwa Chong Institution since 2005), he is fluent in Mandarin. He also speaks Cantonese and understands basic conversational Hokkien.

Mr Chee Wai Pong graduated from the University of Singapore in 1971. He joined the Legal Service and was appointed a Deputy Public Prosecutor/State Counsel from 1971 to 1973. He was appointed a Magistrate and then District Judge and the State Coroner between 1973 and 1976.
Mr Chee joined M/s Osborne Jones & Co as a partner from August 1976 to December 1978. He was a founding partner of M/s Ng Ong & Chee from January 1979 to December 2006. From 1 January 2007, he started his own practice under M/s Chee Wai Pong & Co until March 2025.
Mr Chee is presently the Chairman and Director of various listed companies. He also acts as legal advisor to many charitable and/or religious organisations.
Mr Chee is a Notary Public and a Commissioner for Oaths. His areas of law practice include land law, conveyancing and corporate work.
Mr Chee is fluent in English and Cantonese.
